Loch Morlich and Inverness

Once we’d had our cup of tea in bed today, we decided to drive round to Loch Morlich. We debated whether to cycle, swim or walk but, in the end, it was too cold for us to build the enthusiasm to do any of these. There was a new dusting of snow on the highest mountains and a cold wind was blowing. Instead we made plans for the next few days before moving on to Inverness.

We’re now on a no frills campsite where we can have hot showers, empty our bins, toilet and waste water and top up fresh water. We’ve also been to Aldi… usual chores for life on the road. Funny how they seem less onerous than when we’re at home!

We then walked into Inverness over some pretty bridges and through tall pine trees and parkland on Ness Islands in the middle of River Ness, and along the Great Glen Way.

We were disappointed that Inverness Castle was closed for renovations, but John was pleased that the pub we chose for lunch was showing the Liverpool – West Ham match.

The beer, wine and food were good and Liverpool won, so there were smiles all round. Now I’m ready for a sleep!
