Lochinver to Loch Ness

We had a leisurely start to the day before leaving Lochinver to make our way to Ullapool to visit Tesco and have lunch.

John was very patient and kept stopping so I could get out and take photos of the beautiful scenery along Loch Assynt.

After breakfast by the loch, I spent ages at Ardvreck Castle and waterfall, and he didn’t complain at all!

Finally, we made it back to Ullapool where we treated ourselves to haddock wraps and ate them under the watchful eye of a rook.

We had planned to stop at an aire for the night but instead decided to head to Loch Ness, where I’ll be staying on my own for a few nights once John heads off to meet up with his university friends. A call to the campsite confirmed they had room for us to arrive a day early.

We’ve settled in and I’ve had a refresher lesson on emptying the toilet, and been shown where everything I might need is stored in the garage ☺️ John’s checked his bus time to get to Inverness on Thursday, and has confirmed with the taxi company that he will be able to get back on Sunday, despite road closures for a big cycling event involving 6000 cyclists. Sorted!
