Me, myself and I

I’ve quite enjoyed my first 2 days on my own, and they’re flying, filled with whatever I fancy, with nobody to nag because I’m taking too long. 😜

After walking up to the bus stop with John to see him off on the bus to Inverness, I thought I’d get my chores out of the way so I could relax. This mainly meant doing the washing, which was beginning to build up after 2 weeks away.

Having phoned my mum and hung the washing out, I spent some time chatting to my van neighbour James. His wife died a few years ago and he said he’s always glad of company when he’s away in his campervan alone. We’ve both been feeding the campsite’s resident ducks and I’m surprised they’re not fatter! The photos show views from Molly Moho’s door. The campsite is lovely and I’m happy and safe here.

Next, I decided to edit some of the photos I’ve taken on my camera, so I can enter them in this month’s camera club challenge, which closes soon. Another chat with James over wine and whiskey, a couple of episodes of a TV series that wouldn’t be John’s cup of tea, and it was time for bed.

I woke at 5.30 to a beautiful morning so, after a cup of tea in bed with Wordle, Connections and Sudoku, I decided to get up and go to the nearby woodland with my camera.

I got some shots I’m pleased with and spent a couple of hours editing my favourites, before psyching myself up for a swim. It’s breezier this afternoon and there were small waves on the water… it definitely felt colder (my Garmin watch says 9 degrees C 🥶) so I’m pleased with myself for doing 20 minutes non stop, back and forth along the shoreline.

What’s next? A glass of wine or 2 with James maybe, then curry and rice followed by 2 more episodes of my programme in bed. Tomorrow I think I’ll do some drawing and painting. ☺️
