Sadly, our snowshoeing trip ended on Friday, and we all went our separate ways. John and I caught the bus to Steinach, then the train to Innsbruck, as did a few of the others.

We had an hour to wait until our train to Munich, where I’d booked an Airbnb for a couple of nights before we fly home on Sunday. After a snack in a cafe, we returned to the station.

Unfortunately, the train was delayed. While we waited, we negotiated the toilet entry system… John more easily than me. The queue grew longer as I tried to pay using the contactless system. Finally the barrier opened and I went in! After that, I needed a drink so we had a beer before heading to the platform to get the train.

During the journey, the delay to the train got longer. We finally arrived in Munich 45 minutes late and jumped in a taxi to the Airbnb. The city was really busy, especially after being in a village in the mountains. Thankfully, the Airbnb was lovely and peaceful, and just what we needed.

We ended the day at a Vietnamese restaurant recommended by our hosts. Delicious! Then it was time for an early night, ready to explore the city the following day.
