The weather was a bit cold and wintery this morning, and the planned hike was a short leisurely one, which gave me the perfect excuse for a rest day. After John had left, I had an enjoyable morning doing exactly what I fancied, lazing around in Almi’s Hotel.

I started by writing yesterday’s blog, then I showered and washed my hair. Because I now leave my hair curly, it takes ages to dry if I don’t have a diffuser to use, which means its awkward to bundle it up in a hat and go outside for a while… another good reason to be lazy! I then had a lovely long chat on the phone to my mum before fetching myself a coffee from the bar, eating the sandwich I’d made at breakfast, and doing a hard Sudoku.

By the time I’d finished the Sudoku, it was about 2 o’clock and John was back. He told me about his snowshoe hike on pretty forest trails to Freider Alm, a wooden chalet in the woods, ending back at the church in the town.

Although the day had started with snow showers, they had blue skies by the end of the hike, and the groups were glad to have had some fresh air and exercise.

We sat in the bar with the others for a while, between us trying out the gluhwein, hot chocolate and beer. There were also some delicious-looking cakes, but I abstained because I didn’t feel I’d earned it. We were all amused when Colin donned the barman’s Father Christmas hat!

The town is looking lovely under a full moon this evening so I got my camera out to take some photos. It makes a change from using my phone… I think I might take it on our hike tomorrow and hope I have time to use it. After my rest day, I’m raring to get back on my snowshoes. Hopefully, it’ll be another excellent day.

It looks a nice cozy place to stay.

Thank you. Although it’s easier and faster to use my phone for the blog, sometimes it’s worth using the camera instead ☺️
